Quip Shed Comedy @ The George & Dragon
Join us for a night of laughter at the George & Dragon in Thames Ditton! For March, we have a fantastic line-up, featuring Rob Copland, Finlay Christie, Richard Todd, and host Lyle Barke!
Rob Copland is a high energy, clowning based stand up. His physical and playful approach to observational comedy has given him a reputation as one of the more exciting and original acts on the circuit. In 2022 his Debut Edinburgh show ‘Mainstream Muck (gimme some of that) won the comedians choice award for ‘Best Show’. In 2020 He was a Finalist in two major comedy competitions, NATYS, 2Northdown’s New Act Of The Year and Winner of Brian Gittins’ Honk Show.
At 19, Finlay Christie became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition, following in the footsteps of Peter Kay, Lee Mack and Sarah Millican. 3 years later, his debut Edinburgh show “OK Zoomer” was nominated for NextUp’s “Best Show” award. His material, based around his experience as a Gen Z, led Chortle to describe him as “the voice of his generation”.
He has appeared on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Stand-Up Sketch Show, The BBC New Comedy Awards, Get Off My Phone! and Jokes Only An AI Can Tell. He has performed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival and across Europe for the Comedy Store.
Richard Todd began stand-up comedy in 2011 and has won several awards, written and performed three acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh Festival and club sets at Up The Creek, Komedia, Latitude Festival, XS Malarky and in a bath tub during a house party (he is that versatile).
He wrote Spatulahead: an animated short commissioned by Channel 4 for their Random Acts program. The film went on to be selected for show at The TorontoAnimation Arts Festival, The Melbourne Film Festival and the London International Film Festival and was nominated for best animation at the RoyalTelevision Society Northeast and Border.
We cannot wait to see you there!
